There are two different variations of roulette that has been established, the European and the American roulette. The differences between both variants are the number of the green fields and the order of the fields. The existence of two green fields on a roulette wheel doubles the house edge and the players are at a disadvantage.

In both variants of the game, the order and the colour of the fields are fixed. On the wheel, the colours are alternating and the two green fields of the American roulette are separated by maximum distance. Another difference between both games is that in the American roulette the official table language is English, while in the European roulette it is French.
